For this exhibition, Simon Bultynck (b. 1992) reworked historical landscape paintings in bronze, revisiting works by painters whose persistence outlasted their visibility. Stripped of their pictorial surface, the paintings become weight, folds, edges, and traces of their own construction.

Voor deze tentoonstelling herwerkte Simon Bultynck (°1992) historische landschapsschilderijen in brons, waarbij hij terugkeert naar het oeuvre van schilders wier volharding hun zichtbaarheid heeft overleefd. Ontdaan van hun picturale oppervlak worden de schilderijen herleid tot gewicht, plooien, randen en sporen van hun eigen constructie.
